Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

"You can't hold me I gave you my heart Ah I gave you my soul I fell in love with you but you made me a fool
Ah you just made me fall"  Antenna - Fuse ODG
This song was playing while i was typing the post and i thought it was appropriate because...it's Friday

Hiya, how you been? Your week any good? oh mine, mine was awful, i'm so so ill. I'm aneamic, which means i can't be a vegetarian for a while but i'm just gonna build my iron up loads so i can be. My head is pounding proper, i just can't be dealing.

Enough of that straight to the point, here is a book review on Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.

So, Speak was released in 1999 and it's basically a high school story about this girl (Melinda) who not many people like because she called the police out on a party during the summer, and everyone is hating on her for it. But the point of the story is that there is more to why she called them than people realise and the book is about why she called the police and her journey through highschool without any true friends.

I think the book is a big 'eye-opener' for anyone in high school because we can sort of relate to someone in the book whoever it may be, and i found for me it just made me realise how we just need to be their for each other, like we are all in the same boat one way or another.
So bottom line, the book is good yeah. I felt it kind of dragged on but maybe that's just me. There were times when i jut wanted to stop reading but i did finish just for that closure, although i already knew what was going to happen.

So, this is a good book if you were looking to read it and Laurie Halse Anderson is a brilliant author. I also read another one of her books, The Impossible Knife of Memory which is a similar kind of book but i will do a review on that soon.

Have a good weekend dear friends, i'm going to eat my dinner and retreat to my bed watching some Game of Thrones (I'm in that hype now)

Enjoy yourselves :D
