The Beginning of Everything - Robyn Schneider

"You say you're used to playing with fire You say you're heart is on your sleeve You say you're sometimes sentimental Well that ain't showing through to me" Play With Fire
Have i done this song before? Well i heard i was listening to it just now and i love Vance Joy more and more.

HEY YOU!!! How have you been? It's been a while hasn't it haha (it's not funny i know) my apologise. We have no internet, so i'm using my phone internet to post this, oh the struggle. I honestly hope you've been well, and had a good half term and all that jazz.

Today, i bring for you a book review (ish) on the book The Beginning of Everything. I'm calling it that because that is the title of the book i read, however it was also released as Severed Heads, Broken Hearts. Which if you've read the book, you'll know that the title is actually quite good considering what the book is about.

BEHOLD!

Okay, so 'The Beginning of Everything/Severed Heads, Broken Hearts' is about a boy, the boy is called Ezra. Ezra is sort of like top dog in school, he plays tennis and he is really good at playing tennis, he sits with all the cool kids he has the "Hottest" girlfriend you know, he is sort of the guy and everyone wants to be. Party's, Drinking all that what not. UNTIL!! He sees his girlfriend in bed with another guy.
Until, he gets into a car crash and loses the ability to play tennis at the skill he used to. He has to go to Physio Therapy and he needs a cane type thing to walk. All this is a massive blow to his confidence and he spends the whole summer inside his room, with his very loyal dog.

The Beginning of Everthing is when he goes back to school and starts hanging out with his old friends Toby (Severed Heads) and all his friends also he joins the debate team a new found hobby and meets a girl, Cassidy (oooooh). All this makes him realise the life he had before wasn't as fulfilling as the life he now has., the friends he had before weren't really his friends.

REVIEW TIME!!

So i dunno if you know this about me, but i like to know what happens before it happens. I normally do this by googling (My good pal google) the book or the movie that i'm about to start reading or watch. Normally it works out okay, sometimes it doesn't and this was one of the sometimes. I could not find a single spoiler for this book which made me want to not read it however, a lot of the comments about the book was that it was incredibly 'Frustrating' and that made me want to read it!

I will agree with everyone one of those comments that said the book was frustrating because it was more than true. Although, it's not frustrating because the book is rubbish it's the characters that are frustrating but i do feel if the book didn't have these frustrating characters it wouldn't have been such a good book.

The book is quite good though i must admit, it's quite modern i think like uses modern references and all that. (it was only released last year so yeah)  It's really funny as well with lots of puns. What i will say is i learnt a lot of words haha, there's a lot of big words and i liked that. It's from a boys point of view which is a nice change but apart from all the laughing your going to do, it's generally quite sad. Like i think i was supposed to shed a tear or something, i didn't however because i'm the sort of person who won't notice the sad bit until the end of the book haha. "Oh yeah, that's actually really sad" and then my heart will start to melt a little bit.

Good book, read it when you get the chance!

The End

Have an amazing weekend, i hope you had a good easter. I've just finished reading Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, and although i said to myself i wasn't going to read it. I did haha. I will review that soon.

Until the next time, dearest friends. Peace out,
Naomie
