I wish i had been able to go to a Jeff Buckley gig, he would have been so good live. His voice is so perfect, and he wasn't too bad looking :D
Hello I'm Naz, it's really nice to meet you. Joking!! I hope you're all well, has the week treated you well? Got any plans for the weekend? I kept thinking it was Friday today, and it made me really sad when it wasn't.
We/I are not too far away from the whole exam period, and i thought i'd just share with you how i revise. I can't say my revision methods are the best, i mean they work for me but they may not work for you. So until you find your best suited revision style, just hang in there.
Writing Things Down
Okay, so i like to write things down in different colours, and i'll keep writing out and writing it out until i feel i have learnt the topic or the part i need to learn. I've gone through a gazillion notebooks because i write everything down, but not to worry i recycle them all after words.
Writing in colours
Okay, so in the above i said i write things down but i always change the colour of the pen. This is partly so that i stay engaged also because i can write a certain keyword or something in a different colour. However, the main reason is so that i can read what i have written down, because if i was to write it all in black i wouldn't feel the need to read back what i have just written.50/10 - Take Breaks!
50/10 is what i revise in. I will revise for 50 minutes, and then take a ten minute break. It is so so important that you do this, you can't revise flat out. Make sure you get up and have a drink or eat something, go to the toilet maybe even talk to a family member just do something that isn't revising for 10 Minutes.
Post-It-Notes
Many find it helpful to stick Post-It-Notes around the house so that you are revising even when you don't realise it. I however just stick them around my bedroom, on my wardrobe door etc. because i doubt my aunty would appreciate me sticking paper around her house, she'd be worried i take the wallpaper off or something.
Remember to go out
Don't isolate yourself from the world, every once in a while your gonna need to go out and see how your friends are doing. Have a good catch up, socialize, maybe buy yourself a nice dress for the summer. That should be fun. Maybe you should go for a walk, or head to the park. Just enjoy yourself for once! However remember your exams are important, don't go out everyday.
Listen To Music
Some people wouldn't be able to do this, but i find it really helps i dunno why. Also because i share a room so, it's my way of blocking out all the other unnecessary sound that i don't want to be hearing. It tends to be quite soft quiet music or else i will probably end up singing along to it or something which doesn't help.
Revision Timetable?
It's annoying when you have your teachers moaning at you telling you you need to make a revision timetable and stick to it, but it actually really helps. If you can, you should definately consider making one, it will also make knowing what to revise easier. By doing this, you can prioritise maybe making sure that the things you find harder are the things you might want to spend more time on.
| This is my little revision timetable, think i'll have to make a new one now though. |
Sleep and Eat well!
This is probably the best thing about having to revise, i get a good excuse to get out the living room (although i am never in there) and go to bed, oh how i love my bed. Also, do try and make sure you are eating well. I can get that when we revise we get lazy and just start eating loads of rubbish, but drink plenty of water and all the healthy stuff you may not want to eat.
I hope this has helped you, if it hasn't then it won't be long until you find your suited revision style.
That's all from me dearest friends, have an amazing weekend!!
| First, let me take a selfie! |
Until the next time dearest friends,
All the best,
Naomie
